Picton
We arrived in Picton yesterday after a three and a half hour ferry trip on the Bluebridge (not the aforementioned Interislander). The BC ferries all of a sudden seem like a cruise line. We're staying in a small 8 room hostel that could very well be the best place we'll stay in on our whole trip. From here it is on to Christchurch or Nelson, westcoast or eastcoast we'll find out where we are heading soon. The only bad thing is the weather, it reminds me of BC in November. Watched tv for the first time yesterday and in my 30mins watching only caught one commercial that didn't have something to do with the All Blacks.

No Shirts, No Fancy Shoes, No Service!
should've posted this one before the lord of the rings tour (which was disappointing because they were just run-down set-less areas around wellington that no one could recognize but we should've expected it, still interesting just not worth what we payed) because it happened saturday night. i'm (peter) finally feeling better so me and vince head down to our hostels basement bar for some cheap drinks, after asking around where there is to go out in this city we headed for the streets. went to one place it was alright, danced a bit, got some jbombs that were ridiculously overpriced then went in line for what seemed like a pretty cool club, seemed bumpin'.
we get to the front of the line the guy id's us, we show them hes like aw hey cool where are these from. canada. then he looks down at my shoes and goes ahh sorry no trainers man..... we were pretty choked, persecuted because of our footwear, who brings fancy shoes on a backpacking trip, so we went back to our room and yelled about it for awhile, then laughed, then slept.
and the nickname list is waaaay outta control, can't even keep up so any memorable ones we'll post there just too many ppl you meet. we're headed down to the south island today, in about 3 hours we'll be on the ferry the "inter-islander" for a 3 hour fairly scenic trip to Picton on the south isle. breakfast time, later

Fallin' for Juicy

alright so first week done, seems like an appropriate time for an update. After 2 nights in auckland and some recovery time (peter) we took a 12 hour train ride down to Wellington. To sum up the train ride, yes it was long but was definitely overshadowed by the scenery, rolling hills, sheep, mountains, sheep, valleys, sheep, rivers, sheep.....beautiful. the countryside looked amazingly laid back and like a good life.
So we're here in Wellington now, this is going to be our 4th night here and its been good so far. very windy city but its an exact replica of victoria i swear so its kind of homely. except much taller the buildings are tall, but more or less like home. we've done a lot of walking around town including a hike of Mt.Victoria to see a great view of the city and surrounding areas. oh and the university here is called victoria university (just like university of victoria in case you didn't put 2 and 2 together. oh and today, our september 18.........LORD OF THE RINGSSSS TOUR DDDAAAYYYY, we get to see i think 25 sites where the movie was filmed, not even close to scratching the surface but its as many as you can see out of wellington, anyways im babbling on so cya next post

Good News
We've arrived safely in Auckland and are waiting to check into our hostel. We are both quite tired and pissed off. Pissed off due to the fact that neither of us have slept since Sunday night. In short... we're here and are safe.
